The terms used across these docs.
402 Payment Required
The HTTP status the gateway answers when an item needs payment. Its JSON body lists the price and the accepted rails. See HTTP gateway API.
Agent token
A secret starting with ccx_agent_ that lets an agent spend your card credits at gateway URLs, within its per-call cap, daily cap and allowed sellers. It can't read or change your account.
Agent wallet
The dedicated Base wallet cryptocadet init creates for your agent. Its key is encrypted on your machine. Keep only a working float in it.
Allowlist
The list in your local policy of tokens the agent wallet may spend and seller addresses it may pay. Sellers start empty.
Base
The Ethereum layer-2 network CryptoCadet uses (chain id 8453). USDC payments and payouts happen there.
Card credits
A prepaid US-dollar balance you top up by card through Stripe. Credits are spent only inside the CryptoCadet gateway.
Charge
One paid access to an item. Its id is returned in X-CryptoCadet-Charge and sent to the seller's origin.
Earnings
A seller's balance from card-credit sales, after the fee. Paid out in USDC on Base.
Fee
The 3% CryptoCadet keeps from each paid request, on either rail.
Gateway
The CryptoCadet server that answers item URLs (/v4/g/<handle>/<slug>), takes payment and serves or forwards the request.
Grant
A seller sharing a private item with one email address, in unlock mode (pay once) or per_query mode (pay each time).
Handle
A seller's public name, the first part of every item URL.
Hosted item
An item whose content (up to 200 KB) CryptoCadet stores and serves.
Micro-dollars
The unit amounts use in the API: one millionth of a dollar, the same as a USDC base unit. 1,000,000 = $1.
Origin
The seller's own server behind a proxy item.
Origin secret
The key (starting with ccs_) the gateway signs forwarded requests with, so the origin can verify them.
Payout address
The Base wallet a seller is paid at, for USDC sales directly and for earnings payouts.
Policy
The file ~/.cryptocadet/policy.json that limits USDC payments: tokens, caps, sellers and approval threshold. It never leaves your machine.
Private item
An item only people the seller has shared it with can read, paid with card credits.
Payment proof
The X-PAYMENT header (quote id, transaction hash and redeem token) that shows a USDC quote was paid.
Proxy item
An item that forwards paid requests to the seller's origin URL.
Quote
A short-lived, server-signed statement of what to pay, to whom and how much, for a USDC payment. Each quote pays for one access.
Rail
A way to pay: credits or usdc.
Redeem token
A secret (starting with ccr_) returned with a gateway quote. It proves the redeemer is the one who requested and paid the quote.
CryptoCadetRouter
The contract on Base that USDC payments go through. In one transaction it sends the seller 97% and the fee to CryptoCadet. It never holds funds.
Slug
The item's name in its URL, unique per seller.
USDC
A US-dollar stablecoin. CryptoCadet uses USDC on Base, contract 0x833589fcd6edb6e08f4c7c32d4f71b54bda02913.
